Tallie's Special Garden Post - White Widow From Mr.Wilson

High Everybody! Happy Halloween!

Today I was surprised by my good friend, ummmm, Mr. Wilson. Yes Mr. Wilson is his name and he left me with.........

A healthy nug of White Widow from his garden of awesome, trick or freaking treat. I have always been a fan of the Widow and find it very interesting that again we have a strain with disputed origins. Any one here familiar with Green House Seed Co. & Strain Hunters

Well it seems the original founders have a little disagreement about who and where this strain came form and both seem to take the credit while other sources claim it was bred by the mountain folks from where the sources come from. I really believe this to be a processed strain and not naturally bread in the wild.

Here is what I found quickly online.
 1. White Widow is a cannabis strain developed in The Netherlands by seed breeder known as Shantibaba who owns and runs Mr. Nice Seeds and the CBD Crew.

2. In the documentary, Kings Of Cannabis, this topic is discussed.

3.The original White Widow was created using a pure Sativa land race from Brazil and was pollinated by an indica hybrid from southern India. It was believed, according to legend, that this hybrid was born from years of carefully selecting and breeding in the mountains of Kerala to produce high resin content marijuana plants.

You Decide...

White Widow -
White Widow is a well known Dutch Strain that has been widely appreciated for the past 25 years. This strain has a very strong aroma and is both sweet and sour. You can expect a fresh and clean pine taste with a subtle, lingering and very pleasant citrus flavor after each hit. This strain is especially wonderful for anxiety users due to its instant calming effects. It can help with migraines, PMS symptoms as well as other chronic pain.

My Notes:
Look: Very bright green with dark rich green leaves. Covered in beautiful crystals. The image above is half the sample nug I had.

Odor: A sweet pine smell with a slight sour note.

First Hit: A little subtle but it has that sweet note this strain is famous for. Overall it is a very smooth hit and with a nice flavor.

The High: Very nice and calming, another one of these strains that will make you want to just enjoy things a little more. My stomach is a little upset this morning and this really settled things down for me.

Eastern Washington Cannabis Market - Botanical Solutions Northwest

High Everybody!

Today I had the pleasure of discovering my first Medical Marijuana Cannabis Market. Eastern Washington Cannabis Market has five current vendors (I will not be covering them all in this post) and an amazing variety of infused products, flowers, medibles, you name it, it is here. Each of the vendors specialize in something a little different than the next. One stand has the market on wax and shatters, while another has topicals and edibles, and the next is more of a Top-shelf flower. I really think this works to our benefit because the vendors all have something different.

The markets location is nice and spacious, but parking is in a dirt lot (wheelchairs fyi). They are located on the corner of 3rd & Perry, across from Office-depot. When you walk in Hermit is ready to give you the good news, did I mention 5 vendors? It may be better to call ahead for slow times if you are a shy patient as you may be shopping with a few other heads. Every vendor greeted me with a smile and a hello, making me very comfortable. I like this place!

Our vendor today is Botanical Solutions Northwest. They specialize in extracts. Mmmmmm, extracts... Also in stock are some great Top-Shelf flowers and some amazing looking cookies. All of the extracts I was viewing are local made, not that I have been disappointed with the products that come from Seattle, I just want to see Spokane become the World Renowned "Smokane" i know it to be.

Our proprietor gave me the rundown on what his recommendation would be, and I was not lead astray. I was lucky and he had one last Sour Diesel shatter for me, and he turned me on to the UW Purple flowers.

UW Purple -
UW Purple also known as “U Dub” is an indica strong strain with dark purple buds and a heavy coating of crystals. This strain is well known to be a heavy hitter and will probably leave you where you were an hour ago.

UW Purple is typically well liked by pain patients and those suffering from sleep disorders due to the heavy and long lasting effects of the flower. Again we have an origin that is heavily disputed. The legend of UW is that it was being studied at the University of Washington (GO HUSKIES) and was liberated by one of the students there.

My Notes:
Look: Rich green bordering on purple with massive amounts of trichomes. This sample is really dense and extremely well manicured.

Odor: The smell is very strong, sweet and fruity. This strain also has a slight note of spice.

First Hit: Really a nice hitter. The fruitiness really comes out and you can taste that hint of the spice and can smell it more once it has been sparked.

The High: Now I should state that my tolerance is pretty high. I have been known to take 3-4 nice dabs in one sitting and then go about my day. This strain makes me want to slow things down, maybe not enough to suffer through fishing but enough. This would really help me sleep tonight if I had any left.

Sour Diesel - Shatter extract

My Notes:
Look: The extract came in a parchment and was very thin giving me the perfect opportunity to truly inspect the product. The sample was very clean; it had three specs of matter. The color was perfect, a lovely half gram of shatter.

Odor: A very sweet aroma, clean and pure.

First Hit: Oh this is the definition of smooth! We used an oil rig to really get the purest hit I could. The taste is so clean, not one trace of any other chemicals, with a perfect citrus/sweet flavor. When exhaling it is almost like nothing, it is so smooth it’s like blowing out just air. Oh I really like this!

The High: Very uplifting and easy going. You really need to be careful with this not to over-do-it. The effects were long-lasting and gave me a blast of get up and go-go. This is perfect for a late night movie

Final Note:
The Eastern WA Cannabis Market is first rate! And if you stop in make sure to visit Botanical Solutions Northwest. You really need to pick up some of their extracts

The Herbal Connection - Permafrost & Blue Dream

High Everybody!

I recently picked up some absolutely choice nugs from The Herbal Connection on Monroe
. This is a great shop with good accessibility and parking. It is on the East side of Monroe at the top of the hill so watch the assholes coming up if you're turning left.

The shop is fairly large and very comfortable, it is also wheelchair friendly and easy to get around in. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about the products they carry as well as recommendation of products for various needs. Herbal Connection offers a wide variety of flowers, medibles, oils, and many other products. They had flowers in all types and intensities. I tend to enjoy sativas and hybrids a little more, but hey I am not one to shy away from a good time.

After looking over all that was laying in-front of me, I chose to get 1 gram of the Permafrost and 1 gram of Blue Dream.

Permafrost -
Permafrost is a Sativa dominate hybrid and has some disputed origins. Some say it's a Train-wreck & White Widow cross, but I have found different reports in my travels and I leave it to, "I just don’t really give a shit! Me likey".

This hybrid is most often reportedly used to alleviate overwhelming stress, anxiety, nervousness, fatigue and tension typically brought on by depression-related disorders. Some users choose it to induce appetites and calm queasy stomachs as well, this is really good for me!

My notes:
Odor: Very Piney smell and is pungent almost heavy but not pukie, you know what i mean.

Looks: Extremely dark rich green, with lovely purple. This sample was covered in crystals of sweet sweet love.

First hit: Smooth with no chemical taste or crackle of any sort. This strain has a nice bite and takes a steady hold fairly fast, this is no creeper.

The High: While this strain is not like WHAM-I GOT YOU! It does give you a very steady mind and body high and is mild/heavy (I suppose a lot of this will depend on your tolerance). A few hits and you should be good.

Blue Dream -

Blue Dream is a Sativa dominant hybrid perfect for morning use and is often used by people suffering from mood, stress, and anxiety disorders. Because of the long lasting effects it is highly used for pain relief. A combination of Blueberry and Haze, this strain has both an energetic uplifting mind buzz and a strong body high.

Blue Dream is always a winner in my book, and this sample was no different. It also seems to be a long lasting choice in our community as it has been on the black market for some time now.

My Notes:

Odor: A sweet smell, definitely puke like. This really has that fake pine or engineered pine smell and also has an earthy note underneath that hint of vomit.

Look: Bright green with lighter hairs and a great crystal structure. This bud was really well trimmed and looks just like it should.

First Hit: Light and smooth, like using ice in your bong. The sweet pine taste comes through on the exhale and is very dry.

The High: Easy and mellow, this strain did not grab me right away but set in nice and steady. It’s a light and peaceful state of being. This really is the kind of smoke that will make you sit and think about lots of great ideas which will be forgotten while watching Felix the Cat movies. For sure you need to prepare for dry mouth and seriously dry eyes.

Final Note:
Overall I recommend The Herbal Connection and the staff. I am a big fan of the Permafrost but, oh how I do love me some Blue Dream.

High Everybody!!

Hello all my stoners, weed-heads, dippers, dabbers, tokers, and all you smokey smokers. I am Tallie McCannabis, your friendly neighborhood strain reporter. I am here to report to you wonderful little green monsters all of the wonderful strains our local area has to offer as well as insight into what dispensary might be best for you. We have more than 15 options to choose from within 15 miles of, let’s say Division and Wellesley, ranging from delivery only, Cannabis Markets, Co-ops, and more.

These can be found @:
Or
Along with several others you may have found.

Every post will contain different information about the strains I will be sampling and from where (really difficult task, so give me a break). This blog is not about bashing a certain dispensary, grower, or area of town; it is simply to provide you, the medical marijuana patient, with information about selection, accessibility, knowledge and the overall vibe of the beautiful medical marijuana we have access to, and its providers.

A Little about myself.
I suffer from IBS and Chronic Gastritis. Gastritis occurs when the lining of the stomach becomes inflamed or swollen. I also suffered a brain injury a few years back that causes a few problems. I have used marijuana for years to manage my anxiety and headaches and began to grow my own medical marijuana to really get exactly what I know works best for me. But, the dispensaries in our area really provide a great place for patients to try different things and speak with people whom discuss what others have found to be effective for a variety of uses.

Please leave suggestions, comments, new strains and locations, all of that jazz. Just be
respectful, kind, and above all, honest.

Happy Medicating!
