Well it seems the original founders have a little disagreement about who and where this strain came form and both seem to take the credit while other sources claim it was bred by the mountain folks from where the sources come from. I really believe this to be a processed strain and not naturally bread in the wild.
Here is what I found quickly online.
1. White Widow is a cannabis strain developed in The Netherlands by seed breeder known as Shantibaba who owns and runs Mr. Nice Seeds and the CBD Crew.
2. In the documentary, Kings Of Cannabis, this topic is discussed.
3.The original White Widow was created using a pure Sativa land race from Brazil and was pollinated by an indica hybrid from southern India. It was believed, according to legend, that this hybrid was born from years of carefully selecting and breeding in the mountains of Kerala to produce high resin content marijuana plants.
You Decide...
White Widow -
White Widow is a well known Dutch Strain that has been widely appreciated for the past 25 years. This strain has a very strong aroma and is both sweet and sour. You can expect a fresh and clean pine taste with a subtle, lingering and very pleasant citrus flavor after each hit. This strain is especially wonderful for anxiety users due to its instant calming effects. It can help with migraines, PMS symptoms as well as other chronic pain.
My Notes:
Look: Very bright green with dark rich green leaves. Covered in beautiful crystals. The image above is half the sample nug I had.
Odor: A sweet pine smell with a slight sour note.
First Hit: A little subtle but it has that sweet note this strain is famous for. Overall it is a very smooth hit and with a nice flavor.
The High: Very nice and calming, another one of these strains that will make you want to just enjoy things a little more. My stomach is a little upset this morning and this really settled things down for me.
Happy Medicating!
